Rust server connection problems: what to check

A short checklist for connection issues: client version, EAC, map, port, mods, cache, ping and server status.

When a player cannot connect, check the basics first: client and server versions, Easy Anti-Cheat, server availability and whether a restart is in progress.

Common problems involve maps, ports, mods, broken cache or long asset loading. A short instruction helps more than random advice.

Admins should keep a public status: online, restart, wipe, update and known issue. That reduces repeated questions in Discord.
